Honey just got a little sweeter
Mossop’s Field & Tawari honey is a blend of pasture flowers such as clover, collected from fields and farms throughout the Bay of Plenty, and Tawari (lxerba brexinoides)
, native to New Zealand it is only found in very few parts of the North Island.
The Tawari tree grows over 10 meters high and its beautiful white flowers blossom from October to December to be pollinated by native birds. Traditionally, the native people of New Zealand used Tawari flowers for necklaces and garlands during festive occasions.
Tawari honey is light in colour with notes of butterscotch making it a perfect alternative to sugar in your cooking, baking and drinks.
