The taste of summer
Mossop’s Pohutukawa honey is sourced from the stunning coastlines of the Bay of Plenty.
Also known as New Zealand’s native Christmas tree, Pohutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa)
is an evergreen native that favours coastal conditions and grows up to 25 meters tall. It flowers from November to January with a peak in mid to late December, with a brilliant display of red flowers covering the tree, hence the nickname New Zealand’s Christmas tree.
Pohutukawa honey is pale gold in colour and has a delicate floral taste.
Due to scarcity of supply, Pohutukawa honey is only available at limited times.
