PRINT RECIPE

Makes a delicious, moist loaf.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups Water
1 cup Mossop’s Field & Tawari Honey
125g butter
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsp Cinnamon or Mixed Spice
500g Mixed Fruit
3 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder

Method:

  1. Combine in a saucepan the water, honey, butter, fruit, baking soda and spices.
  2. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  3. Allow to cool.
  4. Sift dry ingredients and mix with fruit mixture.
  5. Decorate with chopped apricots, pumpkin seeds, slivered almonds, etc.
  6. Bake in 2 loaf tins at 150oC for one hour.
