October and November are very busy in the bee hives around the Bay of Plenty. Avocados are flowering followed by Kiwifruit, both need our bees to help with pollination. In the hive the Queen bee is increasing her egg laying as more food sources become available and bee keepers are busy ensuring swarming is minimized and that there is plenty of extra room for the Honey flow. We love this time of year.
